Love a Margherita!

Happy Friday Everyone...
I know it's only 9:30am, but here is something to look forward to come 9:30pm.

Cocktail hour.

Now, I really am a cocktail girl...

Love the feel, the taste, the look of drinking a fabulously yummy cocktail.

Usually best drunk in a chic, chilled out bar, but when one isn't immediately available, then making your own at home, with a bunch of friends is just as fabulous!

I have been playing around with a couple of recipes, and lately the Margherita is my favourite.

Here is how I make mine...

Preparation method

 Put some crushed ice in the Martini Glass (I usually put the ice in a tea towel and have a good old bash at the cubes with a rolling pin, in the back garden, to get the rough-crush desired).
 
Pour the Tequila, Cointreau and lime juice (you can also add some freshly squeezed orange juice, to give it a sweetness) into a cocktail shaker.
* if you like it a little more sweet, you can add some sugar syrup (heat up some sugar with a little lime juice in a pan, until it dissolves - then let it cool completely) or Agave Syrup, to give it more of a sweetness... which I actually prefer...
 
Add a handful of ice cubes and shake vigorously for a few seconds.
 
Strain into a Martini glass with the rim coated in lime juice (cut a sliver of lime and circle the rim), which you've previously dipped in salt.
